I know this is similar to the other shot of Max, but I can’t help but shoot his great profile with all that blond hair.

Max has been the most quiet and calm baby except when he is getting his diaper changed, and then he has some great expressions.

I guess I’ve shot over 200 photos of Max since he was born last Thursday, but I keep coming back to this one. Andrea calls it “Kohoutek” which mean rooster in Czech. I’m sure more will be coming. I shot this one on my iPhone. Seems like my best shots that day where from the iPhone. It was such an amazing day for us, and as a proud daddy, I must admit he is really a cute baby. He gets his looks from Andrea. He has an amazing head of blond hair!

I had a dumpster outside my house for some construction that I was doing and I decided it would be a good time to go thru all the boxes of film that I had. I kept a couple of boxes and threw the rest out. I kept the good stuff of course. This image is from a piece that I did about manic depression for a magazine. It was back in my film days. I decided to re visit these images and see how I would work it now. I’ll be doing more.

Here is another image from my large portrait series. This image was shot back in the 70′s. Nelle and I were traveling in Europe. After riding our bicycles from England and then down the coast of France, we ended up in Spain and decided to send the bikes home and hitch hike. Our first ride was from 3 crazy spanish guys on vacation. They pulled over and we piled in. We spent several days with them and they really took care of us. It was the best ride we had! At the end of several days with them, they took us to one of their homes and we meet the grandmother (the lady smoking), It was a wonderful experience and it was sad leaving them. This print is made up of several B&W prints held together with glue and scotch tape. Then I painted on it with old house paint and oils.

Here is one from the past. Miguel is an amazing guitarist who used to come to Kansas City every so often and give a concert. We always had a flamenco party at my studio when he was in town. Maybe some of you remember those times? This is one of the large portraits that I did back then. This was around 6ft x 8ft and was made up of around 100 B&W prints taped together and then painted on with oil paint and sometimes old house paint. I miss working large, just don’t have the space anymore. I plan on doing large work again, but with digital prints.

Here is a portrait I did today of a good friend. I told her she needed a new face book picture.
This is a rework of one of my client portraits. The original was a large 36×36 print mounted on wood with encaustic wax as the coating.
Here is my second attempt at the Skype portrait. Lot’s of possibilities with this technique, and I don’t have the hassle of airline travel or getting cameras thru checkin !!
