“Pointing The Way”

The snow was falling lightly and seemed to collect on this one branch pointing the way into the woods.

“Double Reflection”

By Michael · Comments (2)
Monday, March 28th, 2011

We had a nice little snow today, so I grabbed my camera and went to the park. I had quite a good hour of shooting and came home with lots to work on. However, this one is a straight shot right out of the camera. Very unusual for me. I started to add my mojo, but it seemed to ruin the shot. So I’m leaving it alone for now. It is a shot of trees reflecting in the water and the posts of a fence also reflecting. Rotated 180 degrees. The main focus was on the snow a few feet in front of me. I used my EP-2 with a tilt adapter and an old Pentax 50mm f/1.4.

Another shot from sunday’s foggy shoot. Also done with the Olympus EP-2 and an Italian shift adapter with a pentax screw mount 28mm lens, just in case anyone is curious.

“Tree And Branch Reflection”

By Michael · Comments (0)
Monday, February 28th, 2011

Today was a beautiful foggy day for shooting, so we took the dogs and went for a stroll along the mill stream park. The dogs kept me moving all the time, so I was shooting pretty fast. I was shooting with my Olympus EP-2 and a tilt adapter with an old 28mm Pentax screw mount lens.

“Out The Window View #1″

By Michael · Comments (0)
Saturday, January 15th, 2011

Andrea and I were on a drive and she was driving for a change which gave me the opportunity to do some shooting with my iPhone out the car window.  The up close trees create the motion texture and the trees in the distance remain somewhat sharp to ground the image. Winter trees with motion, one of my favorite subjects.

“A Leaf On My Windshield”

By Michael · Comments (0)
Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

It’s a good thing I always carry a camera. The leaf was on my windshield for just a moment before the wind blew it off. This could be the beginning of a series of things on my windshield?

“My Neighbors Ginko Tree”

By Michael · Comments (2)
Thursday, November 18th, 2010

I have had my eye on this tree waiting for the leaves to start falling and a dramatic dark sky, and today was the day. I think I will continue to shoot this tree as the leaves fall, if I can manage to keep my neighbor from mowing his yard.

“Skinny Tree”

This image is from a shoot in South Carolina up at the fish hatchery, which is a national park with giant trees. This isn’t one of them, but it caught my eye.

“Early Morning Drive”

By Michael · Comments (0)
Sunday, October 31st, 2010

Here is another image from my trip out west. I believe this one is from South Dakota. I had been driving most of the night trying to get back home and when the morning came, there was this beautiful foggy light. I couldn’t really stop every time I saw a great shot, so I put on a wide angle lens and started shooting thru the front windshield.
